Year 2M

Miss Mitchell and Miss Kerslake welcome you to class 2M!

This term our topic is journeys.

We will be looking at the changes to transport over the years and will be learning about exciting events that have taken place in history, such as: The first man on the moon and the first trains and cars that were invented.

Our literacy will be based around this topic. This term we will be covering instructions, letter writing and narrative, using a range of conjunctions to extend our sentences.

In maths we will be covering place value, addition and subtraction.

Our science topic is materials. This will be linked to our 'journeys' topic and will include things like looking at why certain materials are used to build different types of transport and testing the friction produced by our own cars that we are going to build! We are going to build these as part of D.T day (which you will be invited to)!

We are also having weekly lessons of music, SEAL, P.E and computing (geography, art and R.E to follow next half term.

Here is our plan for this term:

P.E will now be on a Friday afternoon lead by Mr Dennis.

Can all children bring a water bottle to school please.
