Miss Ward and Miss Kerslake welcome you to Class 2W!
This term our topic is journeys.
We will be looking at the changes to transport over the years and will be learning about exciting events that have taken place in history, such as: The first man on the moon and the first trains and cars that were invented.
Our literacy will be based around this topic. This term we will be covering instructions, letter writing and narrative, using a range of conjunctions to extend our sentences.
In maths we will be covering place value, addition and subtraction.
Our science topic is materials. This will be linked to our 'journeys' topic and will include things like looking at why certain materials are used to build different types of transport and testing the friction produced by our own cars that we are going to build! We are going to build these as part of D.T day (which you will be invited to)!
We are also having weekly lessons of music, SEAL, P.E and computing (geography, art and R.E to follow next half term.
Your child will need their reading books and reading records in school every day.
PE kit will be needed on a Monday and it is advised they leave it in school all week for any other planned sporting activities.
Your child will need to bring a named water bottle everyday filled with water only please.
Please ensure all coats and jumpers are named to prevent them getting lost.
