Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

We hope that you have all had an amazing half term  and are ready for an exciting run upto Christmas year in class 3.

Children will come into school through the year 3 cloakroom and hang up their coats and bags on their named peg. To begin with a member of staff will guide them round to class.

At the end of the school day the children will line up outside on the playground just like on transition days.

Our first theme of the new the school year will be 'Would you like to be a Viking?'

The children will look at what it was like to be a Viking and decide if they prefer modern day or Viking times.

We will be participating with a Christingle Service at the church in December. Look out for the letter coming home with more details.

PE day is Friday with Mr Dennis. We may have an extra session on a Wednesday if time allows and we have finished all of our work.

Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit. I would advise sending it in on the Monday and taking it home on a Friday if it needs washing.

It is a health and safety requirement that earrings need removing or covering with plasters please.

Along with Mrs Hancock in class 3, support is provided by Mrs Dwyer. Any issues please feel free to speak to any one of us. I am always available at the end of the school day, alternatively, you could make an appointment to see me before school if you prefer.

Homework will go home every Friday. This will consist of spellings, literacy and numeracy which will be based on what the children have been learning in class.

If your child is absent for any reason their homework will be put into their tray and can be collected upon their return.

Children need to put all completed homework in the blue tray by Friday morning, thank you.

Year 3 staff.
